August Update

August was a busy month. Here's what we've been up to:

Gen Con
Gen Con was great this year. All but one of our scheduled Unity Underground sessions went off. We met lots of new folks and had a few returning players from last year. Many thanks to everyone who played with us. Hope to see you again next year! Thanks also to Cassie, Shannon, and Aaron for the enjoyable road trip and all your help during the con.

Don't Walk in Winter Wood
Lots of progress on DWiWW this month. I'm excited to announce that the upcoming second edition will feature folktale contributions from Daniel Bayn (Wushu, Secrets and Lies), Jason Morningstar (Fiasco, Grey Ranks), Jeremy Keller (Technoir, Chronica Feudalis), Rafael Chandler (Dread, Spite), and Daniel Moler (Red Mass).

The pieces I've received so far have been fantastic. It's looking like the folklore section of the book will contain about three times the content of the original version. It's gonna be a massive stockpile of spooky material to creep you out and inspire your game sessions.

For my own bit, all I've got left to do is finalize the new scenarios for the game. I always struggle with scenario writing, so these have been taking forever.

Cassie and I have also solidified our publication plans for the game. We're planning to host a Kickstarter campaign this October to finance a small print run. I'm not sure if we'll reprint after the initial run is gone (it depends on demand), but the game will also be available as a PDF for the foreseeable future.

Unity Underground
I'm still working on the gamma version of the rules. There are some core issues that I've been wavering on and quite a bit of layout to finish. In other words, it'll be a few weeks before I'll have this ready to release. More soon!
